Insurers must report number of personal lines claims in 2025

The FSCA has told all licensed non-life insurers that belong to the National Financial Ombud Scheme (NFO) to provide the Authority with the number of personal lines claims reported in 2025.

The NFO’s annual report includes details of the number of personal line claims reported in the most recent calendar year. The FSCA helps the NFO to obtain this information because the data also assists the Authority in fulfilling its supervisory responsibilities relating to the delivery of fair customer outcomes by financial institutions, the FSCA said in Information Request 1 of 2026 (INS), issued on 19 March.

The relevant non-life insurers must upload the required information for the period 1 January 2025 up to and including 31 December 2025 via the FSCA’s “Conduct of business – data upload facility”.

After logging into the facility, go to “Submission” and select “NFO Claims 2025” from the drop-down menu.

The deadline for submission is 10 April 2026.

Failure to provide the information by the due date is an offence under section 267 of the Financial Sector Regulation Act.
