Hosting successful business meetings – Find out how and earn CPD hours

We have all sat through them. We have prayed for them to end, or we have been intimately involved in them. We have contributed to them, or listened to others drone on in them. We have watched some chairpersons masterly manage them, while others allow delegates to take over proceedings. We are talking about meetings, of course. As the popular meme states: Another meeting that could have been an email.

What, however, will happen when you are called upon to be the one who must host a business meeting? Will you be able to set it up? Manage proceedings, correctly and competently?

The Essential Meeting Skills is a short CPD course for the younger, less experienced financial advisors who now finds themselves on the other side of the meeting table. The course seeks to provide all the necessary, but basic information, to help prepare candidates to plan and host successful business meetings.

The course covers the following units:

1. Business meetings
2. Alternatives to the traditional meeting approach
3. The meeting
4. Minutes and Minute taking

On completion of the course, the candidate will be able to understand the purpose of meetings and how to use them more effectively to achieve business outcomes. The candidate will also understand how to set them up, decide on the meeting mode, how to facilitate the meeting and understand how to take and maintain minutes of the meeting or a series of meetings.

FSCA CPD Hours:
