Free FIC webinars for accountable institutions in August

The Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) will hold free webinars for accountable institutions this month on regulatory reporting and beneficial ownership.

The first webinar, on Thursday, 21 August, will cover the following:

  • An overview of the upgrade of the goAML system from version 4.6 to 5.4.
  • An overview of the FIC’s guidance on regulatory reports: Guidance Note 4B (reporting suspicious and unusual transactions and activities), Guidance Note 5C (cash threshold reporting), and Guidance Note 6A (terrorist financing and property reporting).
  • An overview of guidance on mitigating the loss of intelligence data because of reporting failure: Public Compliance Communication 50A.
  • Remediating rejected suspicious and usual reports.

The session runs from 10am to 12pm.

The webinar on beneficial ownership will address the following:

  • An overview of Public Compliance Communication 59 (beneficial ownership and the application of section 21B of the Financial Intelligence Centre Act).
  • Establishing the ownership and control structure to determine the beneficial owner of a client.
  • Establishing the beneficial owners of legal persons, trusts, and partnerships.
  • Establishing the beneficial owners of non-profit organisations.
  • Risk indicators of money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing.

The webinar takes place on Tuesday, 26 August, from 10am to 12pm.
