Moonstone Business School of Excellence (MBSE) has launched its latest Continuing Professional Development (CPD) packages, designed specifically for Finance and Insurance (F&I) professionals in automotive dealerships.
The initiative marks MBSE’s first CPD product developed for a defined market segment, offering greater clarity and convenience for professionals who often find themselves navigating complex compliance requirements outside traditional financial institutions.
F&I professionals play a key role in facilitating vehicle finance and are subject to the same Fit and Proper requirements as other representatives under the FAIS Act. MBSE’s new webpage serves as a one-stop resource for these professionals, guiding them through every step of their regulatory journey – from their first RE5 course to meeting annual CPD obligations.
The platform answers common questions MBSE receives from the industry, such as how to become an F&I, what is required to remain compliant, and which qualifications or training programmes are needed to maintain Fit and Proper status.
“F&I professionals often operate on the periphery of the financial services sector, which can make compliance a challenge,” says MBSE. “This dedicated page brings together all the essential training in one place, making the F&I page a comprehensive resource for this important part of the market.”
The CPD cycle runs annually from 1 June to 31 May. MBSE’s new offering includes three structured packages designed around different levels of responsibility and classes of business:
- Package 1 (6 CPD hours) – Focused on communication and customer service for professionals working in a single subclass.
- Package 2 (12 CPD hours) – Covers customer experience and key regulatory topics such as the Financial Intelligence Centre Act and the Protection of Personal Information Act for those handling more than one subclass.
- Package 3 (18 CPD hours) – A comprehensive option for professionals working across multiple classes of business, offering a full regulatory and conduct-focused curriculum.
Each package combines technical knowledge with practical workplace skills, such as customer service, communication, and regulatory awareness. Discounts of up to 30% are available depending on the selected bundle.
In addition to CPD training, F&I professionals can access the full suite of FAIS-related qualifications and regulatory courses through MBSE – including RE5 exam preparation, NCA training, Short-term Insurance qualifications (FETC Short-Term Insurance and Higher Certificate in Short-Term Insurance), and Class of Business Training (Short-Term Insurance – Personal Lines and Short-Term Insurance – Commercial Lines).
The dedicated F&I page also provides step-by-step guidance on Fit and Proper compliance, helping users understand what they need to enter and remain in the profession.
“Our goal is to make this a valuable resource for the industry – bringing together everything F&I professionals need in one place, while positioning MBSE as the go-to provider for this market,” says Monique Brummer, MBSE’s operations manager.
All courses are delivered via MBSE’s user-friendly online platform.
