Still need to write the RE in 2020? – There is very little time and opportunity left

Posted on

Failure to complete the compulsory Regulatory Exams by the due date means that you are no longer fit and proper. Your employer has no option but to terminate your employment, either by removing you from the rep register until such time as you have passed the exam or requesting your debarment. Either way, you will not be allowed to work in the industry and earn an income.

In March 2020, the FSCA communicated that all Regulatory Examinations with a deadline for 2020 will be extended to 15 December 2020. There are no indications that this will be extended.

It is therefore important to register urgently to write the Regulatory Exam to allow time in case you do not succeed at the first attempt. If you need to write to comply with regulatory requirements before end of 2020 you will have to book as soon as possible.

Exams will be hosted at all four our permanent examination centres (JHB, PTA, DBN and Cape Town) until 15 December 2020 – registration deadline to write the last exam on the 15th is 30 November 2020.
Exams at our satellite venues will only be hosted until 10 December 2020 – registration to write the exam on the 10th is the 25th of November 2020.

Here are some of the closing dates for registration:
