June 30 Deadline

All those who are required to successfully complete the level 1 Regulatory Examinations by the end of June should note that the final dates for registration are:

• Permanent Centres: 13 June
• Satellite Venues: 10 June

Not every candidate passes at the first attempt. Please bear this in mind to give yourself a fair change of re-writing should this happen to you. Please do not leave it to the last – there may not be time to write again.

Level 1 RE Preparation Material

There is no further news on the updated learning material which, according to Inseta, will be available by 30 June 2014.

LexisNexis announced the availability of the third edition of its Legislation Handbook and Preparation Guide for the level 1 FAIS regulatory examination – RE1 and RE5. These two books reflect the law as at 10 April 2014 and incorporate amendments contained in the Financial Services Laws General Amendment Act 45 of 2013.

The LexisNexis preparation guides should be ordered directly from them – please click on this link to download the order form which should, together with proof of payment, be sent to customercare@lexisnexis.co.za.
