Minister of Finance Enoch Godongwana has appointed Thobile Masina as the new acting FAIS Ombud.
Masina was the assistant ombud since October 2017. She replaces Advocate Nonku Tshombe, who acted in the position since 1 December 2019.
The FSCA said Masina’s appointment is for three months from 13 September, or until a new Ombud is appointed and assumes office, whichever occurs earlier.
It is anticipated that the new FAIS Ombud will assume office no later than 1 November, the FSCA said.
