FIC Webinars – Four opportunities to obtain a better understanding

The Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC), South Africa’s national centre for the receipt of financial data, analysis and dissemination of financial intelligence to the competent authorities, will be hosting various insightful webinars in November:

The Business Representatives Webinar on Suspicious Transaction Reports (STR)
As a person who carries on a business, oversees, manages or is employed by a business, you are obligated to submit STRs to the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC). The FIC will provide you with an overview of STRs and how to submit them to the Centre.

Risk Based Approach and Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Risks Facing Credit Providers
As proposed in the recent schedules, item 11 refers to the proposed inclusion of credit providers. The FIC will provide you with an overview of an Accountable Institution’s obligations in terms of the FIC Act, including a discussion on the Risk Based Approach and money laundering and terrorist financing risks facing credit providers.

The FIC will provide you with an overview of the Accountable Institution’s obligations in terms of the FIC Act and a discussion on the Risk-Based Approach and money laundering and terrorist financing risks facing Trust Companies.

The Accountable Institutions Webinar on Sanctions
The FIC will discuss the targeted financial sanctions regime from a South African context in relation to the Financial Intelligence Centre Act, 2001 and the Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Control Regulations by accountable institutions. (This is a repeat session of the previous sanctions session hosted on the 12th of August.)
