CMS webinars for registered Healthcare brokers – Details of this as well as several others publications on Friday

The Council for Medical Schemes (CMS) will be hosting live Webinars for Accredited Healthcare Brokers. The format of the webinars are three-hour sessions over two days, followed by a compulsory assessment on day three to ensure transfer of knowledge.

The cost is R350.00 per intake.

The intake dates are as follows:

Intake 1: 04 – 05 August 2020 (Assessment 06 August)

Intake 2: 12 – 13 August 2020 (Assessment 14 August)

Intake 3: 18 – 19 August 2020 (Assessment 20 August)

Intake 4: 25 – 26 August 2020 (Assessment 27 August)

The following topics will be covered:

Compliance requirements for Financial Service Providers (FSPs) and understanding Board Notice 194
The FAIS Act and the code of conduct for FSPs
The Medical Schemes Act and accompanying regulations
Broker conduct and ethical behaviour
Overview of healthcare and PMB Costs
PMB Definition guideline and COVID-19

Continuous Professional Development (CPD)

Delegates will be able to claim CPD hours if they have attended the full three hours over two days, and successfully completed assessment. Delegates will be able to claim 4.5 Ethics and Practice Standards plus 2 Technical CPD hours from the Financial Planning Institute. A total of 6.5 CPD hours will be claimed from these webinars in total.
