The Minister of Health has approved an increase of slightly more than 4% in the maximum monthly fee payable to healthcare brokers.
From 1 January, the maximum fee for introducing a member to a medical scheme and providing the member with ongoing service or advice is the lesser of:
- R106.19 plus VAT a month; or
- Up to 3% plus VAT of the contributions paid.
The cap is 4.19% higher than the previous maximum of R101.19 plus VAT.
The new cap was gazetted by the Minister of Health on 11 March.
