Alexforbes Investments was named South African Manager of the Year at the 2026 Raging Bull Awards, held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on 13 February.
Sasfin Asset Managers was the runner-up, with Sygnia Asset Management in third place.
The Manager of the Year award recognises consistent, risk-adjusted performance across a range of funds over multiple years. Data used in determining the winners was supplied by Iress and Apex.
Alexforbes Investments also received the award for Best South African Interest-bearing Fund on a risk-adjusted basis for its Superior Yield Fund.
The Raging Bull Awards, first launched in 1996, marked their 30th anniversary this year. The event recognises unit trust funds and asset managers for performance over three- and five-year periods.
Alexforbes chief executive Dawie de Villiers said the award marked an important milestone in Alexforbes’ evolution from a retirement fund administrator to a broader investment business serving institutional investors and individual clients.

While Alexforbes has traditionally partnered with many of the country’s largest retirement funds and institutional investors, this recognition reinforces the strength of an investment capability that is increasingly accessible to financial advisers and individual clients, De Villiers said.
