Employees who receive meaningful feedback every week are 80% more likely to feel fully engaged, according to recent research – a statistic that reinforces what many HR professionals already sense: consistent, quality feedback isn’t just helpful; it’s essential.
“Giving feedback is easy,” says Lizé Botha-Cornelissen, director of The David Legacy. “Giving it well without confusion, defensiveness, or awkward tension is a whole different story. And when it comes to receiving feedback, it can bring out everything from motivation to a meltdown.”
With more than two decades of experience in psychology and human resources, Lizé brings a deep understanding of workplace dynamics. She holds a master’s degree in counselling psychology from the University of Stellenbosch, as well as credentials in human resource management from the University of Pretoria and a coaching certificate from an ICF-accredited programme. She founded Lizé Botha & Associates, which rebranded as The David Legacy in 2019, a firm committed to helping organisations build sustainable, people-centred practices.
On Thursday, 28 May, Lizé will lead a highly practical and interactive webinar on “Mastering the Art of Giving and Receiving Feedback”, hosted by Moonstone Business School of Excellence. This CPD-accredited session is designed for professionals at all levels – whether you avoid tough conversations or simply want to sharpen your skills.
Importantly, with just a few days remaining in the current CPD cycle, which ends on 31 May, this session is also an excellent opportunity for key individuals and representatives to earn the CPD hours required under the Fit and Proper requirements.
“The great thing is, feedback is a skill that can be developed,” says Lizé.
This one-hour session promises more than just theory. Participants will gain real-world tools and techniques to handle feedback with clarity, confidence, and emotional intelligence. The webinar also explores the deeper “why” behind feedback – moving beyond performance reviews and into the realm of culture, growth, and trust.
Using live polls, guided reflection, and a dynamic teaching style, Lizé will help attendees to:
- prepare feedback that lands constructively;
- create psychological safety in conversations; and
- transform difficult interactions into growth opportunities.
The topics include:
- Constructive feedback: why competence is key.
- Ten key steps to feedback: structure for clarity and impact.
- Handling negative feedback: mindset, emotions and growth.
Whether you’re in HR, management, or simply looking to improve how you communicate, this session is an opportunity to refine one of the most crucial interpersonal skills in the workplace.
The webinar will take place between 11am and 12pm on Microsoft Teams.
The fee to attend is R195. Attendees earn 1 CPD hour.

Access MBSE’s CPD courses
MBSE is a recognised CPD provider with multiple professional bodies and an approved education provider by the Financial Planning Institute of Southern Africa.
The online platform offers more than 60 courses starting at R122. These courses provide between 0.5 and 12 CPD hours, depending on the specific course.
Monique Brummer, the operations manager at MBSE, says unforeseen circumstances might result in FSPs and their representatives completing their CPD requirements at the last minute.
“MBSE students get immediate access to courses after payment (if they pay by credit card). They can thus start working on their required CPD hours for the end of May deadline at any time,” says Brummer.
